Black Pat is a nickname he acquired while at the Royal Military College Duntroon in 1980's. The nickname hasn't stuck and, and its best left to him to explain how he got it in the first place! At the time I was trying to learn Kelsie's Wee Reel but I didn't have any music or even a recording to listen to! I thought I was playing Kelsie's Wee Reel but this tune has some obvious differences. Denise McQuire is Patrick Byrne's wife. She liked the tune so I named it for her. You can listen to the tune here .
