Website Personality

The blogging community I follow is playing around with a website called Typealyzer .  Allegedly by inputting the Knowledge Matters™ URL the underlying engine can determine the site-author's personality, using a psychological text analysis - the famous Myers Briggs. A sister site called GenderAnalyzer can determine the gender of the site-author, and another called oFaust compares the site-author's writing style to the great authors.

Here are the results:

  • Knowledge Matters™ has Myers Brigg INTJ qualities. Interestingly I have always come out as an INTJ against Myers Briggs. An INTJ is typically called the scientist. Scientists apparently "enjoy theoretical work that allows them to use their strong minds and bold creativity. Since they tend to be so abstract and theoretical in their communication they often have a problem communicating their visions to other people and need to learn patience and use concrete examples".
  • The author of Knowledge Matters™ is a man. There is an 82% confident rating. Last time I looked I was indeed a man!
  • On the "oFaustometer" apparently my writing style has a 60% likeness to Friedrich Nietzsche  - the famous philosopher and philologist.

If I were to take all of this seriously I would be worried.   I've read some of Nietzche's work, and frankly found it very heavy going.   I'm trying to write a blog that is readable, enjoyable and useful.  I hope I am communicating my ideas with clarity, and I certainly try to provide concrete examples. Thank goodness, to use the famous lyrics of Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody - "it doesn't really matter, to me".
